Why card platforms are a creator business now
Cards became a live, mobile and partly onchain market in about two years. The marketing has not caught up.
- Live selling is the main stage. Whatnot reported $8 billion in GMV in 2025 and passed that in the first half of 2026, and Eilers and Krejcik estimate sports cards and trading card games made up about 45% of tracked live GMV in July. Collectors buy where they watch.
- Capital is pouring in. Whatnot raised a $545 million Series G in August 2026, Arena Club raised a $10 million Series A, and Beezie and Packz raised rounds too. Funded rivals will buy the best creators first.
- Cards went onchain. Onchain card pack spending hit a record $324.6 million in June 2026, per Blockworks Research. Platforms such as Courtyard and Collector Crypt need crypto KOLs as well as card creators.
- Generalist agencies miss the culture. Card buyers spot fake hype quickly. Pull rates, grading, population counts and set release dates all need to be right in a script, or the comments do the damage.
Card collectors respond to the same live mechanics we use in streamer marketing: long sessions, chat, and an offer at the right moment.
The trading card growth stack: which channel does which job
Most card platforms over-spend on one channel. This is how we split a launch budget by job, before choosing any creators.
| Channel | Job in the funnel | Number that proves it |
|---|---|---|
| Live streams and breaks | First buyers and trust in a new platform | First orders per stream hour |
| YouTube reviews | Long shelf life for search and comparison | Sign-ups from the link 30 days later |
| Clips of pulls | Cheap reach on Shorts, TikTok and X | Cost per thousand verified views |
| UGC ads | Paid social creative that scales a winner | Cost per first order in ads manager |
| Crypto KOLs | Wallet users for tokenized cards and onchain packs | Funded wallets and first purchases |
A first campaign rarely needs all five. Most card launches start with live streams and clips, add UGC once a message works, and bring in KOLs only if cards are tokenized. Our casino UGC agency page shows how we produce ad-ready creative for gaming-style products.
How we run a trading card platform launch
- Buyer map. We define the first buyers: sports card flippers, Pokémon collectors, TCG players or crypto-native collectors. Each lives on different channels.
- Channel split. We assign budget by job from the growth stack above, with a single number to watch for each channel.
- Creator casting. Streamers, reviewers, clippers, UGC creators and KOLs vetted for adult audiences, real engagement and clean sponsor history.
- Launch window. Live sessions in launch week, reviews in weeks one to three, clips throughout, and UGC tests once the first message wins.
- Cut and scale. After 30 days we cut channels that miss their number and move budget to the creators who bring repeat buyers.
If your platform sells random digital packs, our digital rips marketing agency page covers the odds and buyback rules that change the brief.

Platforms usually report GMV to investors, but GMV hides a lot: one whale can carry a month. We report new buyers, repeat buyers and cost per buyer, so you can see whether creator spend widens the base or just recycles the same collectors.
When the plan includes onchain cards, KOLs are vetted with the same checks as our crypto KOL due diligence guide, including bot followers and past paid shills.
Why 3betmedia
Cards now mix three things we have done since 2018: live streaming for gaming brands, clipping and UGC at volume, and crypto KOL campaigns for platforms such as Binance, MEXC and Gate.io. Our STEPN campaign sold 949 NFTs through creators on X and YouTube, the closest thing in our case list to a card drop.
We work only on creators, streamers, clips and UGC. We do not promise sales numbers, and we do not script cards as investments. You approve every creator and the budget before anything is booked, and we price every plan from your brief.

Frequently asked questions
What does a trading card marketing agency do?
Most do retail, print, PR or ecommerce ads. 3betmedia does the creator side only: live streams, reviews, clips, UGC ads and crypto KOLs, planned by job and reported in buyers.
How much does trading card platform marketing cost?
Campaigns start at $2,000, and the first gets 10% off. A launch with live streams, clips and UGC tests usually needs more, depending on how many creators and weeks you want. We price each plan from your brief and book nothing until you approve it.
Do you market card marketplaces and collecting apps?
Yes. Marketplaces, collecting and portfolio apps, grading and vault services, and onchain card platforms are the main fit. We do not market print runs, card shows or physical retail displays.
Can you help launch a tokenized trading card platform?
Yes. We combine card creators with crypto KOLs, keep any token separate from the cards in every script, and measure funded wallets and first purchases rather than impressions.
Which countries can you run card campaigns in?
Most English-language card creators reach the US, UK, Canada and Australia, so that is where most campaigns run. For products with random packs, your counsel decides the eligible markets first and we cast creators inside them.
