Name the destination before selecting the performer
This guide is for app teams hiring creators to supply footage for an ordinary iOS App Store preview. It is not a creator job listing or a promise of store approval. Apple describes these previews around captured app functionality; a creator appearing beside a phone belongs to a different production brief.
AppVideos.co sells previews made from supplied screen recordings. Insense separately documents creator work for mobile apps, including social formats. Those are useful commercial distinctions. Buying an app advertisement does not automatically buy a file suited to the store product page.
Start with the UGC creator management scope and confirm the proposed capture work. If your team already has accepted recordings and only needs an edit, commission that missing work directly. A creator's audience matters when you purchase distribution; it does not establish screen-capture quality.
Check the actual recording task
Review a clean capture sample relevant to the intended device. Look for legible interface text, deliberate navigation and complete actions. A polished portfolio montage can hide whether the person recorded the product path or an editor assembled disconnected screens.
Name the app build, operating environment and account state. Give the creator an approved demonstration account with only the access needed for the task. Keep developer signing credentials and store-administration access out of a basic recording commission.
Ask who will prepare the app and resolve an unavailable feature. The creator can follow an approved path without inventing a workaround or changing the product. Review a paid sample when new capture work is needed to assess suitability; agree that work before asking someone to produce it.
Get the publisher’s specification into the purchase
Apple's current specification gives app previews a fifteen-to-thirty-second duration range. It also distinguishes device resolution from accepted preview resolution. Have the publishing owner select the actual display target and export settings rather than assuming every portrait video uses the same preset.
The original record below defines the handoff from app owner to creator and editor. Its fields are buying decisions, not a universal production package.
| Input | Confirm before recording | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Product state | App build, account state and approved feature path | Footage matches the named version |
| Display target | Publisher-selected device target, orientation and accepted export | Actual file properties meet that specification |
| Capture | Complete actions and useful pauses around them | Editor can show the requested task clearly |
| Language and sound | Locale, narration need and pronunciation review | Screens and spoken meaning agree |
| Use | Store preview, other edits and permission limits | Written rights cover the intended delivery |

Record the product without adding a different promise
For an ordinary interface preview, Apple asks for in-app content rather than filmed people tapping a device. Its guidance also requires appropriate content for all ages and material you are authorised to display. Special formats such as AR need their own current guidance; this brief does not cover every Apple platform.
Capture the task at a pace the editor can use. Remove notifications and private information from the recording environment. Identify demonstration data honestly, especially in a financial or gambling app; a clean screen must not become invented evidence of customer results.
Keep the recording tied to the actual functionality. For a game, use the real-gameplay brief to define what the app actually does. A transition or composite must not suggest a mechanic that exists only in the marketing edit.
Separate narration from on-camera advertising
Apple's guidance allows voiceover to explain an app preview. Decide whether the task needs it, then agree the script and language review. A creator hired for screen capture may not be the right narrator, and a voice booking should not silently include another language or synthetic voice reuse.
Keep a separate social-ad brief if the campaign also needs a creator speaking to camera. It can share approved product facts without sharing the same edit. Do not paste an enthusiastic first-person testimonial over store footage unless that experience is real and appropriate for the intended message.
Where your editor owns the final assembly, the raw-footage hiring guide helps specify source files. Ask for the capture quality needed to make the final export; resizing a compressed chat preview later does not restore unreadable interface detail.
A hypothetical paid feature loses its context
Suppose a fictional task-planning app commissions a preview showing calendar export. The demonstration account has a paid plan. The creator records the action correctly, but the first edit presents it without explaining that access condition.
The publisher checks the product facts and the proposed store message. Apple's preview guidance requires context for features that depend on an in-app purchase, subscription or login. The team supplies the accurate condition and keeps it legible in the final cut; it does not claim every new user gets the feature.
If the explanation no longer fits, the editor narrows the feature story instead of hiding a necessary qualification. This is an invented acceptance example, not a client incident, review decision or claim that one wording guarantees approval.
Accept the capture and keep submission separate
Match the delivered takes to the agreed app path and version before closing the creator commission. Check the final viewing size with the editor. Accept the requested work against the brief rather than using a promised download target as the production test.
Use the UGC asset handoff checklist to attach the master, locale, version and permission record. Identify the selected poster frame from the accepted footage and keep obsolete takes separate. Another platform or later ad cut needs its own specification and review.
The app publisher should own the App Store Connect upload and review process unless a separate authorised scope says otherwise. Technical file acceptance, content review and the app's eligibility are different matters. Hiring a creator or receiving a finished recording settles none of them automatically.
Bring the app build, the capture path, the publisher's display specification and intended uses to the hiring call. Those inputs make a practical creator brief without promising approval, creator availability or acquisition results.
Frequently asked questions
Can we use a talking-head UGC ad as an App Store preview?
Do not assume the formats are interchangeable. For an ordinary iOS interface preview, the brief should follow Apple’s in-app capture rules and the publisher’s current specification. Commission a separate social cut when you need a performer on camera.
Does an app preview capture order include App Store submission?
Only when a separate authorised scope includes it. A capture creator generally needs the approved app path and demonstration access, not developer signing credentials or store-administration permissions.
Does receiving a technically correct preview guarantee approval or downloads?
No. Review the content and app eligibility separately from file properties. A creator commission purchases defined production work, not a platform decision or acquisition guarantee.

The capture record and paid-feature scenario are original commissioning aids. Supplier pages establish commercial production tasks, not partners, rates or standard terms. Apple’s current documentation supports the limited platform facts; check the actual app, display target and submission requirements. No platform approval, human legal review or download outcome is claimed.
