Three kinds of tracker, three different questions
The phrase crypto KOL tracker covers tools that do different jobs. Knowing which is which saves a lot of time.
| Type | Examples | What it answers for a brand | What it cannot answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wallet trackers | Kolscan, Solana Tracker, MadeOnSol, community Dune dashboards | Does the KOL hold what they call, when do they enter and exit, how is their PnL distributed | Whether the wallet tag is correct, or anything about audience behaviour |
| Social post trackers | 1322 and similar alert feeds | Exactly when a KOL posted, which lets you line up posts against on-chain activity | Whether anyone acted on the post |
| Campaign attribution tools | Cookie3 and comparable Web3 analytics platforms | Which tracked users converted on your own product, and whether a KOL's engagement looks human | Conversions on venues outside your tracking |
For vetting before a booking you need the first type, and ideally the second to timestamp the posts. For measuring a campaign you need the third, plus your own referral data. The vetting workflow below uses all three in order.
What the wallet trackers actually show
Kolscan describes itself as a wallet tracker for top memecoin traders and KOLs. It monitors trades in real time, shows token PnL per wallet and ranks tracked wallets on a leaderboard. It is free, lists Solana first with Ethereum, Base, BSC and several other chains in its filter, and lets you search any address. Wallets with roughly six figures of recent PnL can apply to be listed through verification on X, so the leaderboard is partly self-selected by traders who want the attention.
Solana Tracker's KOL tracker streams live trades from tagged KOL wallets with size filters, identity tags and links to the token mints, with each wallet's PnL available on click. MadeOnSol publishes its methodology for curating a set that reached 1,069 Solana KOL wallets; in one 30-day window 485 were active and moved around 1.5M SOL across almost 80,000 tokens.
Two limits apply to all of them. The tag that links a wallet to a handle is community or self-reported, and a KOL can trade from wallets nobody has tagged. So a clean tracked wallet is evidence, not proof, and a KOL who refuses to confirm their address in writing has answered the question another way.
Our guide to KOLs for a memecoin launch covers the specific reads that matter when the KOL is also a market participant in the token.
The social trackers: timestamps are the point
Post trackers exist for traders who want to react to a KOL's contract address post before anyone else. 1322, for example, streams X posts over WebSocket in a typical 150-250 millisecond range, covers TikTok and Binance Square authors, and delivers alerts to Discord and Telegram bots. That speed is irrelevant to a brand. The timestamp is not.
Lining up a KOL's exact post times against their wallet's trades is how you see the entry-before-post pattern described in the memecoin guide, and it is how you check whether a KOL who claims they never front-run is telling the truth. For a vetting pass, the native platform timestamps on the last ten sponsored posts are usually enough; a tracker matters when you are monitoring a live campaign.

Attribution tools: measuring the campaign, not the KOL
Cookie3 combines on-chain and off-chain data so that site traffic can be linked to wallet-level conversions, reports more than a billion wallets analysed, and includes KOL analytics with a check for bot engagement alongside KOL search, scoring and performance tracking. Tools in this category answer the question the first two cannot: did the people a KOL sent actually do something on your product.
They still sit downstream of your own referral data. A unique link and code per KOL, reconciled against your sign-up and deposit tables, is the record; an attribution tool enriches it and screens the engagement. Our crypto influencer ROI guide covers how the two fit together, and the UTM template sets the naming so the exports match.
A six-step vetting workflow for brands
About an hour per KOL, before any money moves. Most of it is reading.
- Get the address in writing. Ask the KOL for the wallet they trade from and will use during the campaign. Compare it with the tag on the trackers. A mismatch is a question, not a verdict.
- Read the last ten calls. For each token the KOL promoted, note the post time, the wallet's first buy, the wallet's exit and the holding period. Three or more buys before posts is the pattern you are looking for, and the one that ends the conversation.
- Read the PnL distribution. Realised PnL concentrated in one or two tokens suggests a lucky call, not a repeatable audience effect. A spread suggests the audience follows consistently.
- Check what the audience did. For two of those calls, look at the wallets that bought in the 30 minutes after the post and whether they were still holding a day later. This is the closest a tracker gets to conversion evidence.
- Run the audience and ownership checks. A clean wallet attached to a bought audience is still a bought audience.
- Write a one-line recommendation with the evidence and the uncertainty, so the next person can challenge it. Keep the tracker screenshots with dates.
Step five is the KOL due diligence checklist, which covers identity, channel ownership and audience evidence. The signals that predict conversion apply on top of all this. Wallet evidence rules KOLs out faster than it rules them in.
A hypothetical vetting pass
This example is invented. A DeFi project shortlists four Solana KOLs for a launch wave. The vetting pass takes an afternoon.
KOL one has a tagged wallet with a strong leaderboard position. The last ten calls show the wallet buying between 20 and 90 minutes before each post and exiting most of the position within an hour after. Recommendation: do not book.
KOL two has no tagged wallet and declines to share one, saying they keep trading private. Recommendation: do not book for a token campaign; consider for a non-token product.
KOL three has a confirmed wallet, buys after posting, holds for days, and PnL is spread across many tokens. The audience check on two calls shows most post-window buyers still holding at 24 hours. Recommendation: book, on a flat fee for wave one with a declared-wallet clause.
KOL four has a confirmed wallet and clean timing, but the audience check shows post-window buys concentrated in six wallets that appear on every call. Recommendation: hold, pending the ownership and audience checks, because the audience effect may be a small circle rather than a following.
Four handles, one booking, one hold, two declines, and the launch roster is better for it.
What to bring to the first call
The chain your product lives on. The handles you are considering, with any wallet addresses they have given you. The action you want the campaign to drive and where it happens, so we know which tracker type matters for measurement. Any past campaign data with codes.
From that we run the vetting pass, set up the attribution inside the crypto KOL marketing service and report tracker evidence beside the referral numbers each week. We do not use tracker data to make trading recommendations, and neither should the campaign.
Frequently asked questions
What is a crypto KOL tracker?
A tool that follows what crypto influencers do, either on-chain, by tracking tagged wallets and their trades, or on social platforms, by streaming their posts in real time. Attribution tools that link KOL traffic to conversions on your own product are often grouped under the same name.
Which crypto KOL trackers are free?
Kolscan states that all its features are free. Community Dune dashboards are free to view. Others, including live alert feeds and attribution platforms, are paid or require an account; check each tool's current terms.
Can a KOL tracker tell you if a KOL converts?
Partly. Wallet trackers can show whether buyers who followed a KOL's post were still holding a day later, which is the nearest on-chain evidence of an audience effect. Conversion on your own product still needs a unique link or code per KOL in your own data.
How do you know a tracked wallet really belongs to the KOL?
You do not, until the KOL confirms the address in writing. Tags are community or self-reported, and KOLs can trade from untagged wallets. Treat a tag as a claim to verify and a refusal to confirm as information.
How long does vetting a KOL with a tracker take?
About an hour per KOL: confirming the address, reading the last ten calls against post times, checking PnL distribution, sampling the audience's holding on two calls, and writing a one-line recommendation with the evidence.
