Plan backwards from the fixtures you want to own
List the tentpole events in your markets for the next quarter: league openers, derbies, playoffs, finals, big fights. Each one is a block with a before, a during and an after, and each window suits a different channel.
Before the match, analysts and tipsters explain the markets. During it, watch-along streamers keep the brand in the room where platforms allow it. After the whistle, clips and memes carry the talking points into the next day. Our sportsbook influencer marketing page covers casting analysts, tipsters and fan channels by league.
The rules that shape a sportsbook plan
- United States. The AGA Responsible Marketing Code asks for influencers aged 21 or over, placement only where at least 73.6% of the audience is reasonably expected to be 21 or older, and no risk-free wording. Several states add their own limits on deal terms.
- United Kingdom. CAP rules ban content of strong appeal to under-18s and bar anyone who is or seems under 25 from a significant role. Guidance from October 2025 treats 100,000 under-18 followers as a sign of strong appeal and rates football as high risk.
- Alberta and Ontario. Alberta's standards ban bonuses in public advertising and allow athletes only in responsible gambling messages, close to the Ontario model.
- Streaming platforms. Twitch allows sports betting streams with its gambling label, and Kick only allows sponsorship from licensed, verified platforms.
Put these in one brief that every creator, writer and editor works from, so nobody improvises a bonus claim on stream.
Sportsbook marketing channels by window
| Window | Channel | Job | What to measure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Days before | Analysts and tipsters | Explain the markets and give reasoned picks | Registrations per creator code |
| Hours before | X and Telegram posts | Push odds and the app link to fans already talking | Clicks and first bets |
| Live | Watch-along streamers | Keep the brand in the live conversation | First bets during the match |
| After | Clipping and memes | Carry the moment into feeds the next day | Verified views and brand searches |
| Always on | SEO and app UGC | Rank for betting and review searches; show the app in action | Organic sign-ups and install rate |
Odds boosts and free bet offers can still be used where they are legal, but in markets that ban public bonus ads they belong on your own site and in opted-in messages, not in creator posts. Phone-screen demos for paid and store teams come through our betting app UGC service.

Sportsbook marketing ideas to test this season
- Derby week cast. One analyst, one fan channel and one clipper on the same fixture, each with their own code.
- Bet slip explainers. Short app UGC showing how to build a same-game parlay, for markets where that product is legal.
- Tipster accountability posts. Creators who publish their record, wins and losses, tend to keep trust longer than pick sellers.
- State or province launch days. Plan the first two weeks of a new market before the launch date, with pages ready to rank for the brand plus the region.
Our page on betting tipster marketing covers how to vet and brief pick creators.
How to read the results
Track registrations, first deposits and first bets per creator and per fixture, then compare against similar fixtures without the campaign. A creator who works on derbies may do nothing on a midweek game, and the plan should know that by week three.
Keep a record of what ran, where and when. Several US states require operators to keep ads and placement records for years, so build the log from day one.
Where 3betmedia fits
We run the creator side of a sportsbook plan: analysts, tipsters, watch-along streamers, clips, memes and app UGC, plus sports betting SEO. Every creator is checked for audience age and location before booking. The full service is on our sportsbook marketing agency page.
Betting is for adults only. No creator or pick can promise a result, and each market sets its own rules for who may endorse a sportsbook.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good sportsbook marketing strategy?
Build it around the fixture calendar. Use analysts and tipsters before matches, watch-along streamers during them where platforms allow it, clips and memes afterwards, and SEO plus app UGC all season. Check age and endorsement rules in each licensed market first.
How do sportsbooks get new customers?
Mostly through creators and fan channels, affiliates, paid media where permitted, organic search and launch promotions in newly regulated markets. The mix depends on which channels your licence and the platforms allow.
Can sportsbooks use influencers in the US?
Yes, within state rules. The AGA code asks for influencers aged 21 or over and audiences at least 73.6% adult by that standard, and some states restrict how marketers can be paid.
Can sportsbooks advertise bonuses in Canada?
In Alberta and Ontario, public ads cannot show bonuses or inducements. Operators can promote them on their own site or app and to players who have opted in to direct marketing.
What should a sportsbook measure from creator campaigns?
Registrations, first deposits and first bets per creator code, read per fixture and against comparable fixtures without the campaign. Views explain performance but should not decide budget.
