Choose between an attempt, a demonstration and a record
This guide is for a brand commissioning a speedrunner’s live performance. It is not a coaching enquiry, an account-completion service or a creator job listing. Decide whether you want entertaining attempts, a route demonstration or a run intended for an external leaderboard; those requests need different acceptance evidence.
GG Talent Group lists speedrunners among talent offered to brands and game publishers. Beluga Management names speedrunners in its gaming representation and describes sponsored gameplay. These are commercial role descriptions, not proof of a partnership with 3betmedia, available dates or access to any named runner.
Use the streamer sponsorship management scope to discuss matching, briefs and delivery. A specific runner still needs to accept the actual game and format. Do not turn a general creator network into a claim of specialist inventory or a promise of a record.
Watch a complete attempt on the proposed setup
Ask for relevant recent recordings and the context behind them. Check the game version, platform, chosen category or challenge and the starting state. A personal-best highlight does not show how many attempts failed before it, or how the runner explains a reset to viewers joining midway.
Have the runner distinguish their usual route from a version suitable for the sponsored segment. A new build, unfamiliar controller or required tutorial can change what is practical. Do not describe an improvised brand challenge as an established competitive category without verifying that claim.
The game-launch hiring guide covers playable-build access and publishing commitments. A speedrun booking adds route preparation and attempt handling; it does not remove the need to provide an appropriate, working copy of the product.
Write the attempt policy before comparing quotes
The board below is an original brief for the buyer and runner to complete together. It defines decisions, not standard timings or community rules. Put unresolved items back to the person who can answer them before treating a proposal as ready.
| Decision | Agree with the runner | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Run format | Build, platform, category or clearly named custom challenge | The recorded attempt matches that setup |
| Booked window | Preparation, live segment and stopping time | Actual delivery times, separate from the game timer |
| Resets | When another attempt is useful and when to stop restarting | Attempt log and reason for the chosen continuation |
| Fallback | What viewers see if a full completion becomes impractical | Agreed alternative, not an invented successful finish |
| Sponsor delivery | Disclosure, read and product action at workable moments | Timestamps in the retained broadcast |
Specify whether the fee purchases the booked performance or also carries a separately agreed completion condition. Do not assume that distinction after a failed run. The streamer sponsorship term sheet helps organize the scope and commercial questions for the actual agreement.

Leave the runner room to explain the attempt
Ask how the runner will introduce the route and explain a mistake. A fast sequence that viewers cannot follow may show skill without showing the product well. Agree where an explanation or sponsor read can happen without creating an unnecessary interruption in the attempted performance.
Keep the broadcast window and the in-game timing method distinct. State how loading, pauses and a technical interruption will be described for this commission. If a recording will later support a competitive claim, verify that community’s actual requirements separately instead of treating this marketing brief as permission to change them.
For a brand buying a hardware integration, identify the equipment the runner has actually accepted for use. Supplying a new device does not establish that they can repeat a prior performance on it. Allow an honest product explanation without scripting a positive opinion or an improvement that has not been demonstrated.
Keep the sponsorship visible through resets and edits
For endorsements affecting US consumers, FTC guidance calls for clear disclosure with the endorsement and periodic repetition in a livestream. Plan that message for people arriving after an early reset as well as those watching the opening. Use the relevant platform tools alongside an understandable disclosure appropriate to the actual broadcast.
Agree which scenes retain the sponsor message when the runner switches between gameplay, explanation and a break. Check the intended destination and product against the platform’s current rules. A timed game challenge does not make an otherwise ineligible gambling or financial promotion acceptable.
Separate a retained VOD from a later edited clip. Confirm the permitted edits, use and duration. An edit can show a useful moment without claiming that disconnected successful sections were one continuous valid run.
A hypothetical reset consumes the introduction
Suppose a fictional studio commissions a thirty-minute segment built around a short game challenge. The booking includes an opening product explanation. The runner resets quickly several times, and the producer realizes that the explanation has not happened even though part of the booked window has passed.
The team uses the agreed reset decision: pause attempts at the next workable point, deliver the explanation and continue within the remaining window. If the brief includes a route walkthrough as the fallback, label that change clearly. Do not add unlimited attempts or a new finishing guarantee because the original plan became inconvenient.
The evidence record keeps the resets, the corrected sponsor delivery and the actual ending. This is an invented planning example, not a client incident, a typical run length or a claim that this fallback suits every game.
Close the commission against the actual recording
Use the broadcast evidence checklist to retain the VOD, agreed setup, integration timestamps and any accepted exception. A completed live window, an accepted game completion and an independently verified record are separate conclusions. Report only the ones the evidence supports.
Keep production acceptance separate from campaign outcomes. Views and a fast finish do not establish sales, new players or qualified customers. Use the brand’s agreed measurement source for those results and leave unavailable attribution unknown.
Bring the game build, proposed challenge, viewing audience and live window to a hiring call. The next useful step is a feasible creator brief with an explicit reset policy. Talent availability, the final quote and any outside verification still require confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Does hiring a speedrunner guarantee a completed run or a record?
No. Define whether you are purchasing a live performance, a demonstration or an additional completion condition. A paid booking does not establish that a run meets an outside leaderboard’s rules or will receive verification.
What should a sponsored speedrun brief say about resets?
Agree when another attempt is useful, when to stop restarting and what viewers see if completion becomes impractical. Keep the booked broadcast window separate from the game timer, with an explicitly agreed fallback.
Is a speedrunner booking the same as buying coaching or account completion?
No. This guide concerns a creator-led performance for a brand’s campaign. Coaching, private account services, event production and charity administration are different requests and are not included here.
