Casino Creator CAC: Calculate Cost per Depositing Player

A low signup cost can hide an expensive casino creator campaign. Calculate acquisition cost against a defined depositing-player cohort, include the work around the creator fee, and keep attribution limits visible.

Define the customer before calculating the cost

Write one sentence describing the counted customer. For example: a new, eligible player whose first successful deposit occurred within the agreed campaign window. Specify whether the report excludes previous depositors, failed payments, duplicate accounts and users outside the approved market. The calculation becomes misleading when the label stays constant but the underlying population changes.

A registration, first deposit and retained player answer different questions. Put them in separate columns. Use the iGaming attribution guide to agree the event and window before comparing creators. An attribution rule identifies a credited interaction; it does not prove that the creator caused every credited deposit.

Keep the rule beside the number in the report. A useful label includes the market, product, cohort dates and measurement cutoff. If the operator cannot establish account eligibility, show the affected records as unresolved rather than silently counting them as customers.

Build a complete spend ledger

Start with creator fees, then add campaign-specific production, editing, account coordination, approved usage rights and measurement work. Include internal time using an agreed cost rate if finance wants fully loaded acquisition cost. Show that rate as a planning assumption when it is not an actual accounting figure. Keep taxes and currency treatment consistent across quotes.

Some assets support several campaigns. Allocate their cost using a documented rule, such as actual uses or the share commissioned for this test. Do not charge a full evergreen production library to one small creator and none of it to the next. Keep direct campaign cost and allocated overhead separate so the reader can reproduce both versions.

Exclude spend that belongs to a different product or market. If an agency bundles creator buying and production, request the split or record that the allocation is estimated. A precise-looking total built from unexplained estimates deserves less confidence than a range with its assumptions disclosed.

Work through a cohort with consistent definitions

The following numbers are hypothetical, not a 3betmedia result or a market benchmark. A campaign costs €12,000 in creator fees, €3,000 in production and €2,000 in coordination and measurement. Total campaign cost is €17,000. It records 400 registrations, 100 attributed first depositors and 65 players meeting a separately defined day-30 activity test.

Cost per registration is €42.50. Attributed first-depositor acquisition cost is €170. Cost per day-30 active acquired player is about €261.54. These are three different ratios from the same campaign, not competing answers to one question. Day-30 activity does not establish player profitability or responsible-gambling suitability.

Let the cohort mature before ranking creators

If creator A posted three days ago and creator B posted a month ago, their deposit counts have had different time to develop. Compare equal follow-up windows or mark the recent cohort provisional. Fix the reporting cutoff before opening the results; changing it after seeing which creator looks strongest weakens the comparison.

A finance comparison should also use the same market and acquisition event. Payment availability, existing brand awareness and eligibility checks can alter the path to deposit. These factors do not excuse weak delivery, but they do change what a campaign number means. Separate an execution problem from an audience or journey problem.

Keep value and responsible marketing in the decision

Connect the acquired cohort to the operator's permitted value measures, such as net revenue after agreed deductions and servicing cost. Gross deposits are money moved into an account, not agency revenue. Avoid treating deposits as profit or describing every repeated depositor as a successful outcome. The campaign reporting framework helps keep delivery, attribution and commercial interpretation distinct.

Set responsible-marketing and eligibility conditions before optimization. A campaign should not chase vulnerable people or reward a creator for behavior that undermines those controls. Ask the operator which decisions the data can support and which require a separate review. A lower observed CAC does not override campaign boundaries.

Use a variance review before renewing

When CAC moves, check both halves of the fraction. Did spend rise because rights or production expanded? Did qualifying customers fall because traffic quality changed, a page broke or a payment path failed? Record the explanation and the evidence that would change it. Do not immediately blame the creator because one aggregate moved.

Use four renewal fields: accepted delivery, audience suitability, observed acquisition economics and confidence in measurement. Keep a separate note for unresolved records. Agree one next test, such as a different explanation or a repaired landing step, while holding the other conditions stable. The decision should follow a defensible comparison rather than the cheapest headline number.

Audit the denominator before accepting the comparison

Consider a hypothetical operator comparing two creator campaigns. Campaign A reports 80 first depositors; campaign B reports 120. Before ranking the totals, the analyst discovers that B includes 35 people who had deposited before the campaign. Those users can matter to retention, but they do not meet the agreed new-customer definition. Reclassify the cohort rather than changing the definition after seeing the result.

Next, inspect allocation. A included a new production master that the brand reused in several later campaigns, while B used that master without an allocated cost. Finance must decide whether the comparison concerns direct spend or fully loaded cost. Show both if useful, with the allocation rule attached. The analyst should not quietly remove a legitimate cost because it makes the favored creator look expensive.

The final review records the corrected customer counts, direct costs, allocated costs and equal follow-up window. It also retains the first report as a superseded version. If unresolved duplicate accounts remain, publish a provisional range or an explicit uncertainty note. The practical question for renewal is which defined acquisition outcome the operator can credibly compare, not which original dashboard displayed the smaller number.

Frequently asked questions

What is creator CAC for a casino campaign?

Creator CAC is the full campaign cost divided by a defined cohort of acquired customers, usually new, eligible players whose first successful deposit fell inside the agreed campaign window. State whether previous depositors, failed payments, duplicate accounts and users outside the approved market are excluded. Registrations, first depositors and retained players answer different questions, so keep them in separate columns.

How do you calculate cost per depositing player from a casino creator campaign?

Divide total campaign spend by the attributed first depositors in a defined cohort. In a hypothetical campaign costing €17,000 across creator fees, production and coordination, with 400 registrations, 100 attributed first depositors and 65 day-30 active players, the ratios are €42.50 per registration, €170 per first depositor and about €261.54 per active player. These are three answers to three different questions, not a market benchmark.

Which costs belong in a casino creator acquisition cost calculation?

Start with creator fees, then add campaign-specific production, editing, account coordination, approved usage rights and measurement work. Include internal time at an agreed rate if finance wants a fully loaded figure, and label that rate as an assumption. Allocate shared assets by a documented rule, keep direct cost and allocated overhead separate, and exclude spend for other products or markets. If an agency bundles buying and production, ask for the split.

How long should a casino creator cohort mature before comparing CAC?

Long enough that every creator's cohort has had an equal follow-up window. A creator who posted three days ago has had less time to build deposits than one who posted a month ago, so compare equal windows or mark the recent cohort provisional. Fix the reporting cutoff before opening the results and keep the same market and acquisition event across creators. Agree the window with the iGaming influencer attribution guide first.

Should a casino renew the creator with the lowest acquisition cost?

Not on that number alone. Check both halves of the fraction first: whether spend rose because rights or production expanded, and whether qualifying customers fell because traffic quality, a page or a payment path changed. Renew on accepted delivery, audience suitability, observed acquisition economics and confidence in measurement, with responsible-marketing and eligibility conditions set before optimisation. Ask your iGaming influencer marketing agency to report those four fields separately.
