Influencer engagement rate calculator

Engagement rate by followers flatters big accounts with inactive audiences. This calculator shows it by followers and by views, adds the view rate and the comment ratio, and tells you which numbers deserve a question before you book a creator. It does not give a fraud score, because averages alone cannot prove one.

Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser and stores nothing.

How the calculator works

Engagement calculator formulas
ResultFormula
Interactions per postLikes + comments + shares + saves, averaged over the sample
Engagement rate by followersInteractions per post divided by followers, as a percentage
Engagement rate by viewsInteractions per post divided by average views per post, as a percentage
View rateAverage views per post divided by followers, as a percentage
Comments per 100 likesComments divided by likes, times 100

Rate by views is the better comparison between creators of different sizes, because it only counts people who actually saw the post. Our engagement rate formula guide explains when each version fits.

The prompts it raises, and what to do next

The calculator flags four patterns. They are 3betmedia's working rules of thumb for when to ask for more evidence, not industry benchmarks and not proof of fraud. A giveaway, raid or viral post can produce any of them honestly.

Engagement prompts
PatternThreshold we useWhat to ask for
Low view rateViews under 2% of followersNative analytics on active audience, country and age split
Very high rate by viewsMore than 25 interactions per 100 viewsThe post sample, with giveaways and contests marked
Few comments per likeUnder 0.5 comments per 100 likes, with at least 50 likesA read of the comments and a look at who is liking
Many comments per likeOver 50 comments per 100 likesA read of the comments for repeated generic messages or giveaway entries

No prompt does not mean the audience fits your campaign. For iGaming and crypto the deciding question is where the audience sits and how old it is. Our creator audience quality audit covers that check, and our delivery pledge explains how we vet every creator before booking.

Streamers and KOLs: what to enter

  • Streamers on Kick, Twitch or YouTube Live. Engagement per post does not fit a live stream well. Use average concurrent viewers and chat activity instead, and price streams with the streamer sponsorship cost calculator.
  • Crypto KOLs on X. Enter reposts as shares and bookmarks as saves. Use median views from the last 20 posts, not the best post. Then turn quotes into cost per activated user with the crypto KOL cost calculator.
  • Telegram channels. Telegram shows views and reactions per post; enter reactions as likes and forwards as shares.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good engagement rate for an influencer?

It depends on platform, format and audience size, so a single number misleads. Compare creators on engagement rate by views, over the same recent sample, in the same platform and niche.

Should I calculate engagement rate by followers or by views?

By views when you can get them. Followers include inactive and bought accounts, so a rate by followers makes large accounts look worse and padded accounts look fine.

Can this calculator detect fake followers?

No calculator can prove that from averages. It shows patterns worth questioning. Proof needs native analytics, a read of the comments and the audience geography and age data.

How many posts should I average?

A recent, fixed sample such as the last 20 posts or 30 days. Include ordinary and sponsored posts, and note any giveaway or viral outlier you leave out.

Does the engagement calculator send creator data anywhere?

No. It runs in your browser and sends nothing. Your numbers only reach us if you paste the summary into a Telegram message or bring it to a call.
