Why prop firm marketing got harder, and why honest creators win
Funded trader programs grew on creator codes and payout screenshots. The last three years showed how quickly that model can turn on a firm that oversells.
- The sector has seen enforcement and closures. The CFTC shut down My Forex Funds in 2023. A court dismissed the case with prejudice on 13 May 2025 and sanctioned the agency, but Finance Magnates counted at least 50 prop firm closures in 2024 alone.
- Platform access can vanish. In February 2024 MetaQuotes reportedly pushed brokers to cut prop firms with US clients from MetaTrader, and several firms moved platforms within weeks. Creator scripts that name a platform need a plan B.
- Pass rates are low. The Funded Trader's CEO said in March 2025 that 5 to 10% of clients pass a challenge and about 1 to 2% receive a payout. Content that implies most traders get paid misleads buyers.
- Payouts are real but concentrated. Prop Firm Match tracked almost $325 million in trader payouts in 2025, led by a handful of firms. Traders now compare payout records before they buy, and creators are where they ask.
Every paid video, post or Discord message carries a clear ad label, as the FTC expects of influencers. Our creator ad disclosure examples page shows the formats we use per platform.
Affiliate code, flat fee or hybrid: how to pay trader creators
The deal type decides which creators say yes and what they are motivated to say. We set it per creator, not per campaign.
| Deal type | How it pays | Works best with | Risk to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affiliate code only | Share of each challenge sold through the code | Smaller creators with loyal Discord groups | Pressure to oversell payouts |
| Flat fee | Fixed price per video, thread or stream | Established YouTube educators | Paying for reach that does not buy |
| Hybrid | Lower fee plus a share of sales | Mid-size X and TikTok traders | Two numbers to track and settle |
| Community sponsorship | Monthly fee for a Discord or Telegram slot | Signal and education communities | Members outside your allowed countries |
Long reviews of your rules still sell the most challenges for many firms, because traders research before they buy. Our crypto YouTube marketing agency page explains how we book review-style videos.
How we run a prop firm creator campaign
- Rules and geo review. We read your challenge terms, payout rules and accepted countries, and note whether funded accounts are simulated or live.
- Creator casting. Trading YouTubers, X accounts, TikTok educators and community leads, checked for real audience location, adult followers and past promotions of firms that closed.
- Honest briefs. Creators explain the rules, drawdown limits and your real pass rate. No lifestyle shots, no income claims, no payout screenshots without context.
- Code and deal setup. Each creator gets one code or link and a written deal: flat fee, affiliate share or hybrid.
- Monthly review. We cut creators whose buyers churn after one failed challenge and rebook those whose buyers return.
Many trader communities live on Telegram. Our crypto Telegram marketing agency page covers how we vet channels and place sponsored posts.

What you get
- A creator map by instrument Forex, futures and crypto trader creators matched to your challenges.
- Deal terms per creator Fee, affiliate share or hybrid, with codes and payment schedules in writing.
- Compliance-checked briefs Approved claims, required risk lines, disclosure wording and country limits.
- Content review Every video, thread and post checked against the brief before it goes live.
- Sales reporting Challenge purchases, repeat buyers and funded accounts per creator.
We report challenge purchases, revenue, repeat purchases and the number of buyers who reach a funded account, per creator and per code, from your own data. A creator who sells many first challenges but no second ones is a warning sign, and we flag it.

Frequently asked questions
What does a prop firm marketing agency do?
It finds traders who will buy your challenges. 3betmedia does this with trader creators on YouTube, X, TikTok, Discord and Telegram, briefed to explain your rules honestly and tracked by code to challenge sales.
How does prop firm influencer marketing work?
A trader creator reviews your rules, trades a challenge on stream or explains it in a video, and shares a tracked code. Every paid post carries an ad label, and the creator does not claim traders will earn money.
Is prop firm affiliate marketing better than paying a flat fee?
Neither is better everywhere. Affiliate codes suit smaller creators with loyal communities, flat fees suit established educators, and a hybrid often works for mid-size accounts. We pick per creator and watch for affiliates who oversell payouts.
What does a good prop firm marketing strategy look like in 2026?
Honest content about rules and pass rates, a mix of review videos and community sponsorships, one code per creator, and reporting on repeat buyers and funded accounts. Regulators keep watching the sector, so claims need checking as of October 2026.
Can you do prop trading marketing for futures and crypto firms too?
Yes. We cast forex, futures and crypto trader creators separately, because each group trades different instruments and watches different channels. Firms must only accept traders from countries where they can legally operate.
