Why X still decides crypto attention, and why it got harder to buy
X is where crypto news breaks and where traders argue about it. CoinGecko's community survey named X the main crypto social platform for 41.7% of respondents, ahead of Telegram and YouTube. That attention is now priced and policed differently than it was two years ago.
- Paid posts now carry a native label. X added a Paid Partnership label to the post composer on 1 March 2026, and its policy asks for clear disclosure such as #ad on any post where the creator is or may be paid.
- Creator payouts reward Premium views, not replies. Since January 2026 X pays revenue share only on impressions from Premium users in the Home timeline. Accounts that grew on reply farming lost income and some now inflate rates to compensate.
- Ads are not a shortcut for most crypto and gambling brands. X ads for exchanges and wallets need local licensing, ICO and crypto derivative ads are banned, and gambling ads run only in listed countries after certification. Organic creator posts reach audiences ads cannot.
- Regulators read posts too. The UK FCA sentenced seven influencers for unauthorised financial promotions in February 2026, and the US FTC holds brands and agencies liable for what paid endorsers say.
Every post we book is labelled in the way X and the FTC expect. Our creator ad disclosure examples page shows the exact wording per platform.
Which X format to buy for which goal
Most brands buy single posts because that is what rate cards list. On X the format matters as much as the account.
| Format | Best for | What to measure | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single sponsored post | Announcements and launch days | Clicks and sign-ups per link | Posts deleted after 24 hours |
| Explainer thread | Products that need a walkthrough | Read depth, saves and sign-ups | Claims beyond the brief |
| Quote post wave | Making one brand post travel | Reach outside your followers | Copy-paste wording across accounts |
| Hosted X Space | Trust before a token sale or listing | Live listeners and replays | Hosts who promise returns |
| Monthly ambassador deal | Ongoing presence in a niche | Activated users per month | Exclusivity that blocks rivals only on paper |
Spaces work well before a sale or a listing because listeners can ask hard questions live. Our guide to hiring crypto KOLs for X Spaces and AMAs covers hosts, scripts and pricing.
How we run an X influencer campaign
- Goal and market check. We agree one result to pay attention to, such as KYC passed, first deposit or wallet connected, and list the countries you can legally serve.
- Account shortlist. We pull accounts from our database by niche, follower tier and language, then read their last 50 posts for engagement quality, past sponsors and audience country.
- Brief and format. Each creator gets a short brief with approved claims, the risk lines your market needs and the Paid Partnership label, written for their voice, not a shared script.
- Booking and review. We agree fee, timing and how long the post stays up, then review every draft before it goes live.
- Tracking and rebooking. One link or code per creator. After the first wave we cut accounts that sent clicks but no users and rebook the ones that converted.
Our vetting looks for bought followers, engagement pods and recycled replies before you pay. The checks are listed in our crypto KOL due diligence guide.

What you get
- A ranked X creator shortlist Accounts with follower tier, recent engagement, audience language and indicative fee.
- Briefs per creator Approved claims, required risk wording, disclosure and posting window.
- Draft review Every post, thread and Space outline checked against the brief before it goes live.
- Link and code setup Unique tracking per creator so results are never pooled.
- Weekly reporting Clicks, sign-ups and your activation event per creator, with a rebook or drop call on each.
We report from your own analytics or back office, not from screenshots. A creator whose clicks never turn into users gets dropped, however large the account.
Our creator database counts are public: the iGaming and crypto creator report 2026 breaks down the 47,532 X accounts by follower tier, of which 10,843 have 10,000 or more followers.
Why 3betmedia
X has been the core channel in our crypto work since 2018. Binance brought 4,245 new users and more than $510M in trading volume, MEXC 8,522 new users and more than $300M in volume, and Retardio 15M+ impressions on X from KOLs alone.
We also run X alongside YouTube, Telegram and Kick when one channel is not enough. If you want the full creator mix rather than X only, see our crypto KOL marketing agency page.

Frequently asked questions
What does an X influencer marketing agency do?
It finds X (Twitter) creators whose followers match your buyers, checks they are real and active, books posts, threads or Spaces, makes sure each post is labelled as paid, and reports what each creator brought in.
Is Twitter influencer marketing the same as X influencer marketing?
Yes. Twitter was renamed X in 2023 and most people still search for both names. The accounts, formats and rules are the same.
How much do X influencers charge for crypto posts?
It depends on the account's real engagement, niche and format. A thread or a hosted Space usually costs more than a single post. Our crypto influencer marketing agency page explains how we compare quotes on the same terms.
Do paid posts on X need a disclosure?
Yes. X's paid partnerships policy asks for clear disclosure such as #ad or the native Paid Partnership label, and the FTC expects the disclosure to sit in the post itself, not behind a link.
Can gambling brands use X influencers?
Licensed operators can, in markets where gambling promotion is legal, with 18+ messaging and disclosure. We check each creator's audience country against your licence before booking and decline markets you cannot serve.
