Why wallet growth is won after the install
Downloads are cheap. A funded wallet that makes a second transaction is the number that matters, and four things stand between the two.
- Trust comes first. Scam Sniffer counted $83.85 million lost to wallet phishing in 2025 across 106,106 victims, mostly through malicious signatures. New users have heard the stories and hesitate at every approval screen.
- Store rules shape the offer. Apple's guideline 3.1.5 allows wallet apps only from developers enrolled as an organization, and bars crypto apps from paying currency for tasks such as posting to social networks, as of October 2026.
- Custody decides the licence question. Google Play requires country licences for custodial wallets and exchanges, such as MiCA authorisation in the EU or FCA registration in the UK. Google told Decrypt in August 2025 that non-custodial wallets are out of scope.
- Ratings have to be earned. The FTC rule on fake reviews, in force since 21 October 2024, bans paying for reviews of a particular sentiment and allows civil penalties per violation. Store ratings must come from real users.
The first minutes inside the app are where most users drop, and our crypto creator wallet onboarding guide breaks down how we script them.
Wallet marketing by stage: what creators do at each step
Crypto wallet marketing works best when each creator format owns one step of the funnel, from first look to repeat use.
| Funnel step | Creator format | What the viewer sees | Number we report |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Short clips and KOL posts | One feature that solves a real problem | Store visits from tracked links |
| Install and setup | Screen-recorded demo videos | Seed phrase backup and security settings | Completed setups |
| Funding | YouTube walkthroughs | Buying, bridging or receiving the first assets | Funded wallets |
| First action | Live streams | A real swap, stake or mint with questions answered | First transactions |
| Repeat use | UGC ads and follow-up posts | Features new users miss in week one | Wallets active after 30 days |
Self-custody wallet marketing leans harder on the setup and funding rows, because no support desk can reset a lost seed phrase. For ad-ready versions of the same demos, see our crypto UGC agency page.
How we run a wallet user acquisition campaign
The plan is built around one activation event, agreed before any creator is booked.
- Pick the activation event. We agree on the action that counts: a funded wallet, a first swap, a bridge or a staked balance. Creators are paid and judged against it.
- Map the screens. We go through your onboarding ourselves, mark where users stall, then brief creators to show exactly those screens.
- Cast creators who use wallets. Reviewers and streamers who already self-custody, vetted for bot followers, adult audiences and past paid shills.
- Film security honestly. Every demo shows seed phrase backup, what a signature request means and how to spot a fake site. No creator claims a wallet cannot be drained.
- Scale the formats that activate. After 30 days we move budget to the creators and formats with the highest funded wallet rate.
When the wallet is the entry point to DeFi, we brief creators the way our DeFi creator marketing page describes, with protocol risk spelled out.

What you get
- An activation brief The event that counts, the screens to show and the claims to avoid.
- A vetted creator shortlist Reviewers, streamers, KOLs and UGC creators with audience data.
- Demo videos with usage rights Screen recordings you can reuse in store listings and social ads.
- Security talking points Approved lines on seed phrases, token approvals and phishing.
- Activation reporting Installs, setups, funded wallets and first transactions by creator.
We report from your own analytics: installs, completed setups, funded wallets and first transactions per creator, plus 30-day retention. Installs alone can look healthy while wallets sit empty, so funded wallets are the headline number.
If you need the demos made in-house, our web3 video production team shoots and edits screen recordings to your brand.

Frequently asked questions
What does a crypto wallet marketing agency do?
It brings users to a wallet and gets them to fund it and use it. 3betmedia does this with creator demos, reviews, live walkthroughs and UGC, and reports funded wallets and first transactions rather than installs.
How is crypto wallet marketing different from exchange marketing?
Exchanges sell trading, and their users arrive expecting KYC and deposits. Wallets have to teach setup, seed phrase backup and signing first, so the creator content is slower, more visual and centred on security.
What does wallet user acquisition through creators cost?
Campaigns start from $2,000, with 10% off the first. Plans with several demo creators, a live series and UGC usually cost more. We price from your brief and book nothing until you approve it.
How do you approach self-custody wallet marketing?
We show the parts users fear: the seed phrase, approvals and fake sites. Creators who already self-custody film the full setup on screen, and we measure completed setups and funded wallets.
Can creators help with app store reviews?
Creators can remind real users that reviews help, but we never pay for ratings or for reviews of a set sentiment. The FTC rule on fake reviews bans that, and app stores remove them.
Which markets can you run wallet campaigns in?
Most English-language crypto creators reach the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and we also run campaigns in Korea. Your app store listing and licences decide the eligible markets first, and we cast creators inside them.
