Why crypto social media needs more than a scheduler
Crypto teams lose followers in two ways: by going quiet between launches, and by posting something a regulator or platform reads as a financial promotion. Both are avoidable.
- Your audience is concentrated on a few channels. In CoinGecko's survey X was the main crypto social platform for 41.7% of respondents, Telegram for 21.5% and YouTube for 20.8%. A calendar that treats every platform the same wastes most of its effort.
- EU posts are marketing communications under MiCA. MiCA Article 7 requires marketing to be clearly identifiable, fair, clear and not misleading, consistent with the white paper, and published only after the white paper.
- UK posts are financial promotions. Since 8 October 2023 crypto promotions to UK users need an approved route, risk warnings and no refer-a-friend bonuses. The FCA issued 146 alerts on the first day of the regime.
- Paid reach is restricted. Google, TikTok, Meta and X each require licences or certification before crypto ads run, market by market. Organic posting and creator amplification carry most early-stage projects.
Every post we write goes through the same claim checks we use for creators. Our crypto creator claim review lists what we cut and why.
In-house, freelancer or agency: who should run your crypto socials
Most crypto teams start with a founder posting at night. Here is how the options compare once that stops working.
| Option | Typical strength | Typical gap | Fits when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Founder posts | Authentic voice and fast replies | Goes quiet during build weeks | Pre-launch with a small audience |
| Freelance social manager | Steady posting cadence | No creator network or compliance review | One platform and one market |
| In-house hire | Deep product knowledge | Slow to hire and hard to cover | Funded team with daily news |
| Crypto social media agency | Calendar, copy, review and creator amplification | Needs fast approvals from you | Launches, listings and multi-market growth |
Short video now carries a lot of crypto reach. If you need weekly clips as well as posts, our crypto short-form content agency page explains how we produce them.
How we run your crypto social media
- Account and audience audit. We review your last 90 days per platform: what got replies, what got ignored and which posts could read as a promotion in the UK or EU.
- Voice and claims guide. One page with your tone, banned phrases, approved numbers and the risk wording each market needs.
- Weekly calendar. Posts, threads, Telegram announcements, LinkedIn updates and short videos planned around your roadmap, sent for approval each week.
- Publishing and replies. We post on schedule and handle first-line replies during working hours, escalating anything about funds or security to your team.
- Creator amplification. For launches and listings we book KOLs to quote and explain your key posts, so the news reaches people who do not follow you yet.
Memes travel further than announcements on crypto X. Our crypto meme marketing agency makes brand-safe memes your accounts can post the same day.

Frequently asked questions
What does a crypto social media marketing agency do?
It plans, writes, designs and publishes a crypto project's own social posts, replies to followers and grows the accounts. 3betmedia adds compliance review and creator amplification for launches.
Which platforms do you manage?
X, Telegram announcement channels, LinkedIn and short video on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Community moderation for Discord and Telegram groups is a separate service on our crypto community management agency page.
Do you buy followers or run paid ads?
No. We grow accounts organically and with booked creators. Bought followers hurt reach and trust, and most crypto ad platforms need licences many projects do not have yet.
How do you keep posts compliant in the UK and EU?
We keep a claims guide per market, avoid promises about returns, add risk wording where the rules require it and send anything unclear to your legal team before it is posted.
How fast can you start?
Usually within a week of the call. The first week is the audit and voice guide, and posting starts once you approve the first calendar.
